Welcome to the
New Zealand Trakehner Breeders Association
Last updated: 21 August 2008 |
The Trakehner Breeders Association of NZ was formed in 1989 when a contract was signed in Germany to facilitate New Zealand operating a daughter association. This contract enables us to register and brand Trakehner Horses, which gives them a recognized status all over the world. We also receive support in the form of advice and regular visits from the German Verband. In return we are obliged to breed strictly according to the breeding rules and submit a set amount of fees for horses registered and use of the double moose-antler brand to Germany. Other daughter societies exist in: Denmark, France Great Britain, Croatia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Holland, Poland, Russia, Switzerland and the USA. The objectives of The Trakehner Breeders Association of NZ include:To foster the development of the New Zealand Trakehner Horse and to promote its improvement and popularity. To compile, print and publish studbooks or other appendices of Trakehner Horses in New Zealand and by way of registers, New Zealand part-bred Trakehner Horses that the Association shall from time to time accept as being eligible for inclusion in such register in accordance with the Rules of the Association. To print, publish or make contributions to any newspapers, periodicals, books or leaflets and to publish in any manner howsoever any information which the Association may think desirable for the promotion of its objects. To support, join in, compete and assist in the progress and development of any equestrian competition, agricultural show and in particular the Royal Shows of New Zealand and to promote competitions, exhibitions and demonstrations and to award prizes or to make contributions for that purpose.
